Synopsis

Whether in open-pit mines of the Ruhr, or littered rivers and canals, technology and "progress," as well as obsessive digging for profitable raw materials, inscribe themselves deeply into landscapes. The myth of "cheap nature" working for free is the basis for value creation in capitalist societies. Everything is put to work, and assigned a place in the productivity pyramid of "progress" - people, machines, the earth, plants, the cloud. The third industrial revolution in the wake of automation is already looming.

What would happen if all these beings, things and infrastructures were to stop working?
