The Frankfurt Kitchen as the ancestor of contemporary modular mass-produced furniture that seeks to optimize movement and use of space, is built here as a monolithic bloc, a functionless template, and undergoes several de- and re-assemblings before reaching its final form. The sequence of construction can be deduced in part by the traces left by the process.
Every shape is at the same time carrier of traces from a supposed prior handling and of instruction-like mock up labels and stickers that propose variations of assembly.
